Comparably Awards Rank Companies Nationwide

HERNDON, VA – JULY 11, 2022 — NetCentrics, a market leader in cybersecurity, enterprise IT, and telecommunications solutions and services for the DoD, DHS, Federal Civilian Agencies, and Intelligence Community, today announced receipt of a Best CEO for Women award. The award, bestowed by workplace sentiment site Comparably, is a national award based on verified but anonymous employee reviews across 70,000 companies and 15 million ratings. NetCentrics’ CEO, Kenny Cushing, is highly rated by female employees compared to similar-sized businesses across the country.

Employees of all genders were asked to score NetCentrics’ CEO on a number of factors, including: Vision, Transparency, Empathy, Open-Mindedness, and Mission-Driven capacities. Sentiment scores ranked Mr. Cushing’s leadership and opportunities for women in the top 100 of similar size companies in the United States. NetCentrics ranks number 75.

“I am honored to receive this vote of confidence from NetCentrics’ team members. I recognize that women are disproportionately underrepresented on behalf of our nation’s defense in the cybersecurity realm,” says Mr. Cushing. “That is why it is my personal mission to seek female talent and set up systems that benefit all employees, including women, in achieving work-life balance and ongoing professional development.”

Cushing points to several changes the company put into practice since his arrival as CEO last year: a regular leadership speaker series, new mentorship programs and career tracks, the start of a women’s employee resource group, and expanded military differential pay benefits. A third of new hires this year are female, according to Vice President of Human Resources Jessica Kozlowski, herself a new hire under Cushing.

NetCentrics “Best CEO for Women” award places the company alongside a handful of other regional CEOs, including: John Swigart of Pie Insurance (Washington, D.C.), Matt Warren of Steampunk, Inc. (McLean, Virginia) and Jim VandeHei of AXIOS (Arlington, Virginia). Only Brandon Park of SuprTEK (Ashburn, Virginia) serves a similar market; the two companies have partnered together in the past. NetCentrics is the only Herndon, Virginia headquartered company to receive the award.

Comparably’s 5th Annual list of Best CEOs for Women represents the top-ranked CEOs, based on sentiment ratings from female employees on Comparably.com in the previous 12 months (June 24, 2021-June 24, 2022). The list is segmented by Top 100 CEOs of Large companies (more than 500 employees) and Top 100 CEOs of Small/Mid-size businesses (500 or less employees). The list of Comparably’s “Best CEO for Women” awards in which NetCentrics is honored is found here. Employee participation was not required and there were no incentives associated with participation.
