Zhen Lin, Facility Security Officer for NetCentrics, has been elected Secretary of the Capital Region chapter of the Society of Industrial Security Professionals – also known as NCMS (National Classification Management Society). Founded in 1964 by government and industry security classification managers and administrators, the Society has grown to over 6000 members and 53 chapters nationwide, with the Capital Region being the largest. The Society’s purpose is to foster the highest qualities of security professionalism and advance the practice of classification management in the disciplines of industrial security, information security, government designated unclassified information and intellectual property. In addition to representing industry, NCMS members in the U.S. come from NASA, NSA, FBI, GAO and the Departments of Defense, State, Energy and Homeland Security – virtually every federal entity that deals with classification and industrial security. “The exchange of ideas and best practices is crucial to strengthening our overall national security,” Lin said. “I’m eager to start my two-year term as Secretary of the NCMS Capital Region Chapter.” Her term runs from 2016-2018.
