Auditors rank the company in the top 3% for best practices in cybersecurity

HERNDON, VA — April 29, 2021 – NetCentrics, the leader in government and private industry cybersecurity, today announced they have received recognition for best practices within their ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification according to outside auditor review. The confirmation of information security standards, known as ‘ISO 27K’, demonstrates adherence to international standards set across a breadth of technical, IT, and cybersecurity issues. The auditors’ decision to highlight NetCentrics’ best practices is unusual; less than 3% of those with ISO 27K certifications earn marks of excellence. This year, only 6 companies of 212 were similarly scored for best practices.

The ISO 27K certification is published jointly by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Certificate holders must successfully demonstrate that their security measures utilize the best technology and latest thinking to protect digital and physical assets. ISO 27K is a competitive certification and the best practices recognition is granted to even fewer.

“By recognizing our best practices among elite peers, the auditors confirm NetCentrics’ ongoing leadership position in cybersecurity,” says Lawrence O’Connor, CEO. “Customers are assured that we are using the strongest combination of tools and techniques to protect their interests.”

ISO and IEC are both independent, non-governmental, international organizations. Both develop standards to ensure the quality, safety, and efficiency of products, services, and systems. ISO certifications are globally recognized across industries and verified by a consensus of international experts. ISO certification requirements are updated every five years. IEC Certifications are in force as long as the equipment reviewed is in use.

NetCentrics’ ISO 27K certification will expire in 2022. At that time the company will undergo another review to ensure continuation of excellence.

“I’m proud of our teams because we are dedicated to ensure that NetCentrics stays in full compliance with ISO 27K. The recognition that we go above and beyond in our best practices is gratifying considering how small our group is and how diligently they work to achieve and maintain these certifications,” says Jim DeBardi, Chief Information Officer.

This recognition comes on the heels of other company accolades. NetCentrics recently received a Best Company to Work for in Washington, D.C. from Comparably, a workplace culture and compensation monitoring site. NetCentrics ranks in the Top 5% of companies in the District of Columbia and the National Capital Region, as rated by employees. The company also recently welcomed Holly Aglio as Chief Financial Officer.
