Cynthia Barreda is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for NetCentrics Corporation, a leading provider of customer-centric IT modernization, digital transformation, cybersecurity, and IT services to many of the Federal Government’s preeminent agencies such as the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Defense Information Systems Agency, and the Department of Homeland Security. NetCentrics’ mission is to deliver transformative technologies and business solutions that improve outcomes and ensure mission success for the Federal Government.
Ms. Barreda joined NetCentrics in 2002, and prior to her promotion to CEO, served as its Chief Operations Officer (COO), leading the company through rapid growth focusing on development of leading edge capabilities, operational excellence, and a strong culture of collaboration with employees, customers, and industry partners. As CEO, Ms. Barreda has overseen the continual evolution of the business in capabilities, financial diversification, and operations, leveraging strong past performance and an experienced executive team to transform from a small business to a successful large business with over 90% of revenue from full and open contracts. Today she continues to focus on NetCentrics’ strategy for growth, investment, and leadership for continued expansion into 2020 and beyond.
Ms. Barreda began her career in the US Government supporting the Headquarters, Department of the Army, leading customer technology solutions for organizations to include the Secretary of the Army and Chief of Staff of the Army. Prior to joining NetCentrics, Ms. Barreda served as a Principal at American Management Systems proving oversight and technical guidance in the development of a global network for an international trade processing company. Her responsibilities included providing a vision for technology solutions, business processes and analysis, and business continuity planning.
Ms. Barreda’s dedication and determination is visible throughout the government community and within NetCentrics. In 2018, she was awarded Comparably’s Best CEO for Women and Best CEO for Diversity, as well as receiving the 2018 Federal Entrepreneur by DCA Live. As CEO, she has led NetCentrics in the achievement of several awards to include Washington Post’s Top Work Places, Best Company in the categories of Company Outlook, Work-Life Balance, Leadership, Management, Operations, and Professional Development, and DCA Live’s Red Hot Cyber Company.
Ms. Barreda holds a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science, is actively involved in the Small and Emerging Contractor Advisory Forum (SECAF) through CXO forums and the SECAF Government Contractor Awards, and is on the Board of Directors of Women Veterans Interactive (WVI), an organization dedicated to addressing the needs of women veterans and their families.
